The Carmen Sandiego software games were best sellers for Brøderbund Software from 1985 to 1996 with another version released by The Learning Company in 2001. The Carmen Sandiego series taught geography and reference skills.
Back in the days of slow computers, 8bit was king and being able to bring a 24bit millions of color photograph down to 8bit (128 colors) was A LOT OF WORK!! I spent hundreds of hours making background graphics for Carmen Sandiego Where in the World and Where in the USA look great and can still run on really OLD processors.
